Maincamping Lichtenfels

We were refused entry to this campsite because we don't have G607 certification. This is a mandatory biennial inspection of the gas system for German-registered campers and caravans, not for foreign ones. But this campsite applies the same rules to everyone. I think this is unfair. But of course, they're free to do so. It's costing them customers.

Pleasant site with good sized pitches overlooking the river…over the campers in tents . Facilities are a bit old and tired but the showers are a gem and in addition to being an easy walk into town, there are 2 good biergartens very close and a lakeside beach bar on site. Beautiful campsite on the Main. Situated on a swimming and recreational pond. Spacious pitches, partly tiled. Sanitary facilities are fine. Cheap, € 16, - (2 persons incl. electricity). Point of attention: A bit difficult to find and the entrance was too small for several campers and caravans that were waiting for the opening time of 14:00.
