Parking Col de la Madeleine

We went here to hear or see mountain marmots. We have probably heard of it but not seen it. Nice quiet place to spend the night, many motorcycles during the day. The catering industry is closed in the evening. You can put your waste in the large bins in the parking lot.

We didn't stay here because of the wetness, but we did have a nice spot We came via the northern route Not recommended in the high season with the camper, now doable because I have not encountered anyone. The road is occasionally so narrow that it is actually only 1 lane.

A fantastic place! 1/10/2020 overnight here, completely left after 6 pm. Sun and snow on the top, phenomenally beautiful. even saw a golden eagle and foxes. beautiful sunrise / sunset, that's how camping should be. The Northern route is indeed significantly narrower and curvy in parts, the Southern route was much easier to ride.
