Camping de Thoissey

A fantastic place. The previous review was completely wrong. For 17 euros, excellent showers, spacious pitches, no disturbance, clean toilets with paper. It's a wonderful place for cycling or to sit on the terrace along the Saône. 5 stars for us.

This is a mix between a campsite and a seasonal worker's site. At least, that's what it looks like: dirty, old, dilapidated caravans. At night, there's a considerable amount of noise from cars and motorcycles entering the parking lot. There's no proper camper service: no regular water refilling facilities, and you have to empty your water into a broken drain (the instructions say, "Don't stand on it"). Everything is broken, dirty, and old. Ugh! The only positives: the welcome and the spacious pitch.

Great location on the river, the restaurant is unfortunately closed, but there's a good alternative within walking distance around the corner. The showers and toilets were clean during our stay. The only downside was that if you shower in the evening, the light goes out after a while, leaving you showering in the dark, as the light switch is located at the entrance.
