Vaucottes Beach is nestled in a small valley hidden in the middle of a forest. A path leads down to a small, unspoiled beach, lost between high white chalk cliffs.
 Nowhere else on the Normandy coast do the trees venture so close to the sea. Peace and quiet, don't come looking for anything else, you'd think you were at the end of the world.

You are staying in someone's backyard, they only speak French, and the dry toilet—a Blokker bucket with a seat—might be wonderful to some, but for us it wasn't really; the shower turned out to be a garden hose... it took some getting used to. After 5 donations, the bucket was full, but there was no new plastic bag in it.

Make sure you are self-sufficient; it is impossible to install a chemical toilet there either.

Experience: Super sympathieke host. Rustige plek nabij prachtige Etretat (fietsafstand). Aanrader!

Experience: Een hele fijne, groene plek in de groene tuin van de bewoners. Er is een droogtoilet en afvalbakken. De eigenaar spreekt Frans.
De locatie ligt op 20 min fietsen van  Omaha beach en de Amerikaanse begraafplaats. 
Contact: De host was vriendelijk en hij reageerde altijd snel.
