Your rating of the campsite will depend heavily on the pitch you are assigned. We were unlucky; we were right in the middle of the chalets and mobile homes. Zero privacy due to all the verandas surrounding us. Reservation fees are a revenue model. Arriving earlier than 3 pm (off-season) is pointless. You need a key for the barrier, and the reception does not open any earlier. The location is beautiful, but the beach is a pebble beach.

Upon arrival, we waited in a long line until the reception finally opened at 3 PM. Furthermore, the restaurant and shop were closed. The campsite was full of mobile homes in the most beautiful spots.

Initially, we wanted to drive away due to the many messy cottages, but we walked around the campsite anyway. The camper/caravan pitches were at the back, and we got a spot right near the beach exit. Wonderful! The sanitary facilities were cleaned only moderately. Otherwise fine, and within cycling distance of Sables d’Olonnes.
