Camping de la Meije

Beautifully situated campsite, but the reception wasn't pleasant. The tone was somewhat unpleasant and condescending, almost arrogant: "Did we have a reservation?" We hadn't, so we were placed in the field near the mini-golf course, even though there were plenty of vacant pitches (even for the next three days).

A beautiful campsite at the foot of La Meije (peak of 3983m). The village is accessible via a 10-minute footpath. Pitches are grassy and fairly level. A friendly welcome, also spoken in English.

What a rustic and peaceful campsite, with a stunning view of the imposing mountain peaks. Wonderfully peaceful, everything neat, and it was (still) very quiet. Wonderful place to enjoy yourself, and not to do too much.
