*September 2026*

We spent two days at Main Camp, where we received a very friendly welcome. The location on the Main River is beautiful. Unfortunately, the atmosphere is significantly detracted from by the heavy train traffic. Most of the sanitary facilities were new, but cleanliness could be improved. Overall, the campsite felt rather neglected. However, it's okay for a short stopover.

I didn't read anywhere that there is a busy highway across from this campsite, alongside three railway lines where freight trains pass 24/7, and not just a few. I Googled it: 30-40 a day; you simply can't understand each other anymore. At a campsite, you want peace and quiet, no matter how beautiful and automated the spot is, which makes the latter impersonal for us. You have to pay for drinking water for your tank; it's not free. Never seen that before.

Beautiful campsite/camper pitch, everything is there, new, fresh sanitary facilities! Friendly welcome! And a very nice outdoor swimming pool next to the campsite! Starting point for beautiful cycling routes, reaching Würzburg in an hour! Great!
