We received a friendly welcome and plenty of information about the area.

The price, including electricity and a key for the sanitary facilities, is 21.00 per night, with an additional €1 for showering. That is a bit more than listed.

The weather was awful, but nobody can control that. We hadn't booked in advance, so that was our problem. It was already very late, so we stayed overnight.

The campsite is right next to a road, which might disturb light sleepers. Our pitch didn't have an electricity hookup, was muddy, and cost €14 for it—well, it could be better.

The campsite has a rather old-fashioned feel.

Hospitable, good base for Bad Essen. Close to the road. Quiet at night. Satellite reception not available everywhere.
