We have stayed here before. This last time was 4 days. Unfortunately, the payment system stopped working. We did already have a card with a 10 euro deposit and a 7.50 euro credit for water. We had to put the card with the bank account number in an envelope and drop it in the mailbox. Then we would get the money back. Unfortunately, after 14 days and many phone calls, they didn't call back, and we didn't receive any money either. Very disappointing.

What happened to the lovely MOB motorhome site? For years we've been visiting Dörpen and parking our motorhome at the Schützenplatz (shooting range). We were delighted to find that electricity was now available. Unfortunately, today we encountered, for the third time, a large Irish family who had taken over the entire site with several cars, tradesmen's vans, caravans, and motorhomes. They stared at us as we drove by. We no longer felt safe at this site, so we moved on!

The new payment system worked well for us. You can set the payment terminal to Dutch. The card deposit was also refunded. Keep in mind that it's quite common in German banking for payments to be processed only once a week, not immediately, as in the Netherlands. The card deposit is €10. If you want to use electricity or water, top up the card with at least €10 upon arrival. Any unused amount will be refunded.
