The traffic on the B54 was very loud until about 9 p.m., then it was quite quiet until 6 a.m. Herdecke has a lovely old town with many restaurants, etc. It's about a kilometer's walk.

There were five camper vans here last night. We felt safe.

A nice quiet spot; just walk over the bridge and you have a choice of delicious restaurants.

A good spot for an overnight stay. You are no longer bothered by the road at night. It is remote, though, and a bit of a squalor when it gets dark, especially if you are there alone. The spot under the bridge also turned out to be used as a hangout with extremely loud music at times. Fortunately for us, someone from the adjacent fishing club intervened. There are trash cans, but no other facilities. It is a short walk across the bridge to the historic center of Herdecke.
