The castle is centrally located in the Saxon Switzerland Eastern Ore Mountains and can be reached from the A17, exit 7, Bahretal in 5 minutes. Away from mass tourism, we have limited ourselves to 3 parking spaces, so you can choose your own parking space on historical grounds - depending on availability - and spend a quiet, relaxing time. The castle is open for guided tours.

The photos look better than the actual state of maintenance. An old, broken white van and a scooter are parked in front of the gate, along with a pile of wood. Inside, you have to watch where you step. Boards are scattered everywhere, and there are holes in the floor. The host is very nice, but if you have been working on the renovation for 11 years and this is the result, then you need another 100 years. Too expensive for what is offered, namely a total of €90 for 2 nights.

A small, quiet campsite in and next to an olive grove. Unfortunately, campervans don't fit under the trees, but the pitches often offer shade. We received a friendly welcome with information about the town. A supermarket is nearby.
We paid €15 for the campervan and two people. Electricity is an extra €3, and use of the campervan service, including water, a chemical toilet, etc., also costs an extra €3.

Experience: Wir haben drei Nächte im Schatten dieser 1000 Jahre alten Burg nahe einer schönen alten Linde verbracht. Den Platz auf dem weitläufigen Gelände hatten wir uns ausgesucht, da dort auch Sitzgelegenheiten und kleine Tische vorhanden sind. Es war eine schöne leider, wie was nun mal fast immer im Urlaub ist, viel zu kurze Zeit. Der Wald ist auch recht nahe an dem Anwesen und wir haben gleich am ersten Tag eine kleine Wanderung zu den Zehistaer Wände unternommen. Eine sehr schöne Gegend. Zu unserem Stellplatz gehörte ein WC mit Dusche und Warmwasser, eine Küchenzeile mit Spüle Herd, Kochfeld, Wasserkocher...kurz, es ist für alles gesorgt. Ein Stromanschluß ist vorhanden.  Wir werden wiederkommen. 
Tips: Mit Sicherheit könnte ich viel schreiben, allerdings ist in der Beschreibung quasi schon alles geschrieben worden. Die Lage ist zentral und ruhig gelegen. Ich hatte ja bereits beschrieben, daß ich Respekt vor dem Vorhaben, die Burg zu erhalten und restaurieren habe, halte dieses für interessant als auch sehr unterstützenswert. Wir bedanken uns für die schöne Zeit. 
Contact: Ronny und sein Kollege Mike waren sehr freundlich. Wir haben uns mit Ronny ausgiebig über geschichtliche Dinge ausgetauscht und uns über dieses spannende Projekt, dem Erhalten und Instandsetzen des alten Gemäuers erzählen lassen. Das war wirklich sehr interessant und ich ( selber Handwerker) bin schon sehr beeindruckt von diesem Projekt. Das trauen sich die wenigsten Menschen zu. Wir drücken die Daumen, daß alles wie geplant gelingen möge.
