Camping Athens

I just spent five nights at the campsite. I had a wonderful time. The ladies were very helpful and friendly. They provided a map and information about how to get to the city center by public transport. Absolutely the best way to reach the city's tourist spots. One star down for traffic noise from the very busy road next door, but you get used to it.

Strange experience. Upon arrival, the campsite was very empty, but without a reservation, it was a problem. We still managed to get a spot, which was great. But what a stressed-out bunch they are... they even want to dictate how the blocks should be placed and how we should park. When registering, they want a driver's license, passport, or other ID. We're definitely not going to hand that over here... a copy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs isn't sufficient. Conclusion... get out! This campsite is the craziest thing we've seen in the past six weeks.

Ideal campsite for exploring Athens. The city center is easily accessible by bus and subway. The helpful ladies here provide campers with all the necessary information. The grounds and restrooms are well-maintained. The back pitches are quieter and quite acceptable. Those seeking peace and quiet just shouldn't go to a big city.
