Typical Hungarian campsite. €47 per night, incl. electricity. Pick your own pitch. Sanitary facilities are old. Szentendre is beautiful.

By train to Budapest.

2 different tickets needed for a one-way trip, no transfers.

-Szentendre to Békásmegyer (the “suburban ticket” 15 kilometers) at 450 HUF.

-Békásmegyer to Batthyány Tér train station in Budapest (the “Single ticket”) at 500 HUF

We didn't know that and missed one…. Result: 12,000 HUF fine

I think this place is great.

Everything you need is there – the people are friendly – there's a pool – the sanitary facilities are clean.

Of course, this place could be brought a bit more into the modern age, a fresh coat of paint – but I'm sure that will come :) We'd love to come back. Anyone wanting to travel to Budapest from here should expect about an hour's drive.

A very rustic, nature-oriented campsite. It has everything you need, even for very large motorhomes. Just ignore the 3.5t weight limit on the road; the campsite is immediately on the right after that. This limit only applies to the road beyond. The facilities take me back to my youth; it's like a summer camp. Card payments aren't accepted, but Euros are. Getting to the city by train or bike is easily manageable.
