Great base for a longer walk through the area.

The sanitary facilities are clean but indeed few; everything is unisex. So be prepared for queues.

Beautifully situated campsite but expensive. Especially the restaurant, though the food is tasty! No facilities for emptying grey water or chemical toilets. Water intake is possible at the hotel, however.
Route 35 is absolutely not recommended for 2x4 passenger vehicles; there is a high risk of damage (many potholes, washboard ripples, and stones on the stretch between Gulfoss and the Highland Center).

Beautiful location but very expensive (€50 for two people) for very few facilities; three toilets and 1 shower for about 150 people. Can only be booked via the Parka app, you can’t pay on site so it is possible to spend a couple of hours driving to find it is full.
