for those who don't know or missed it, at the beginning of the road there is a sign indicating the prohibition of overnight stays by ordinance of the municipality of Linguaglossa 6/2017. They could repeal it when there is no volcanic activity, but they don't.

you can stay overnight, we were a bit unlucky a lot of wind to stormy and no shelter. but a nice experience. no facilities but a toilet at the ticket sales 50 cents. pay during the day from 08.00 to 20.00 then free.
Etna is also worth a perfect visit when it is cloudy.

It is a very large car park, without services for campers. It is located at 1800 meters above sea level, on the northern side of Etna. There are chalets used as bars and shops. It is also possible to stay overnight, upon payment. We spent the night alone, in complete tranquility, disturbed only by the noise of the wind. The consequences of the disastrous lava flow of 2002 which completely destroyed the tourist facilities are still evident
