read all reviews because they all contain bits of truth in any case beautiful and great for walking rifugio carrara was open for drinks but no restaurant parking lot at the access road has a beautiful view but we are a bit more sheltered for the night on the road at the bottom left of the rifugio

Tip turn left at the indicated parking lot. There is a sculpture garden and a restaurant with wolves on the house. Everything is home made and very tasty. And very friendly people.

great location! route to it is in itself doable. not too steep for a 5+ ton Mercedes Vario… but the potholes do require some steering. tip: drive a little further, then you come to a large unpaved parking space and you are in the middle of the mountains, really cool. the locals do too.
