### Zwerfbus HoogeZon - 4/5
*August 2026*

We actually wanted to stay at Castelluccio, but it was quite full and we didn't find it very pleasant.

There was, however, a very good camper service here.

We drove on to I Cavalli. A bumpy field, next to a riding school, where you park your camper wherever it is level. The ponies come right past you. Indeed, no facilities. A great spot for a lovely, quiet night, right in the middle of the plateau. In the evening, we enjoyed the beautiful starry sky.

Stunning place to stay for a night. The village is still being rebuilt after the earthquake 10 years ago. It involves a bit of a climb up a path, but it is manageable. The riding school can be a bit of a nuisance as the horses and donkeys just walk right past your camper. On a clear day, the starry sky is magnificent. We were parked with about eight Italian campers.

It can indeed be a fantastic place, but today it was mud and large puddles with thousands of mosquitoes floating on them. We left after half an hour.
