Since La Meije, after several attempts, hadn't chosen a spot for Gravelotte in the first week of August. Reservations for less than three days are not possible, but arrive before noon and there's still plenty of room. Don't be put off by the "complete" signs at the entrance! The restrooms are fine, as far as I'm concerned. Never wait longer than 10 minutes. The waterfront spots are nice, but the road along them gets quite dusty and sometimes gets driven on quickly.

A very warm welcome. We hadn't booked, but we were able to find a spot and choose our own.
The sanitary facilities are a bit dated, but clean and the water is nice and hot. There's a small, friendly bar on the campsite and a Pizza Hut. Reservations are required if you want to eat there. It's a 20-minute walk to the town of La Grave. There's a beautiful view of the glacier.
