we drove a little further. there was a great parking spot to visit the village and monastery

very unclear. Only a short unpaved parking strip at the intended location. It's the road to the village, so not a dead end. We went to a small parking lot in the village.

We stayed here in September for a quiet night hiking in the Vicos Gorge. It's a gravel roadside lot with some junk. Since the road only leads to the balcony of the gorge, it is very quiet after dark.
