We first drove to the designated GPS location. This is near the upper lock, but it was occupied. If you continue along the path, there's a spot with a boat ramp (there's plenty of room and good shade). We took the road to the lower lock, following the sign for canoe racks and the red snowmobile cross, keeping left. Below, there are two spots: one next to the lock and one just to the left before it. It's also a very beautiful and peaceful spot for a walk.

Quiet spot. We were alone. Suddenly, in the morning, all sorts of activity started; a boat had to go through the lock. Four employees showed up to handle it.
Cycling to Fagersta was impossible; the path wasn't mowed and muddy, impossible. A shame.
