## Information
🌿 Camping in simplicity and tranquility at 't Heuvelhof Nature Reserve – Heuvelland. Looking for a camping experience that returns to the essence: peace, simplicity, and living in harmony with the land? Welcome to 't Heuvelhof Nature Reserve, a small-scale agricultural and nature reserve of 1.7 hectares in the rolling hills of Heuvelland, right on the border with France. Here, you won't be camping in rows, but on spacious, natural pitches among trees, meadows, and vineyards, with open views of the landscape. The site is situated in the middle of fields, in a vibrant agricultural landscape. The silence here isn't absolute silence, but the rhythm of the land: sometimes audible, interwoven with the place. This site is supported by Verwilderde Zielen vzw, an initiative that aims to create space for slowing down, simplicity, and a more connected life with nature and the seasons. ⸻ 🌸 Who is this place for? • For those who long for silence, simplicity and space • For those who want to experience fire, water and earth without any pressure to perform • For adults and children who approach nature with respect • Four-legged friends are welcome, provided they respect the tranquility of the grounds and the animals ⸻ 🌿 What you will find here • A living site with meadows, wooded edges, an orchard, a food forest and a vineyard • Natural pool for swimming or jumping • Wood-fired sauna, hot tub and ice bath (optional) • Cooking over fire, sleeping close to the earth • Large tipi as a sheltered place for quiet togetherness (no party tent) • Small library about people, nature and agriculture • We work according to the leave no trace principle ⸻ ℹ️ Practical & important information • Peace and quiet is key. We only receive individual travellers or a maximum of two families together. Children are welcome, and at the same time we consciously maintain the tranquility and carrying capacity of the site. That is why we limit the number of children staying here simultaneously. Once this carrying capacity has been reached, we will close further bookings with children. • 🚫 No groups or parties. Larger groups are only possible with a completely private reservation of the site. • 🚿 Basic facilities: dry toilets and basic showers. Everything is deliberately minimalist, with respect for hygiene, water, and the earth. It takes some getting used to for some; for others, it's a step closer to simplicity and nature. • No transit camping. During high season, a minimum stay of 2 nights applies. • Only tents and camper vans are permitted in the meadows. Large or modern caravans and mobile homes (alcove and (semi-)integrated) are not suitable. • 🎻 Dranouter Festival (first full weekend of August): a bit livelier at night, serene during the day. • 💡 Tip: those looking for extra silence often experience it most strongly during the midweek periods outside the school holidays. ⸻ 🌾 Who is it for? For people seeking peace and quiet without a schedule and finding strength in nature, silence, fire, and water. You don't come here to learn or become something, but to take time and meet yourself. Fire, water, and silence aren't rituals here; they simply belong here. Nature does the work; you just have to be present. Staying here temporarily becomes co-guardian of the grounds. ⸻ 🌿 Finally, this isn't a place for doing a lot, but a place to feel, breathe, and unwind. Children will find their place here too; where playing becomes listening and discovering a form of silence. Staying here becomes part of the silence that is already there. Book your spot and experience the freedom of true camping.
