This is primarily a campsite for visiting Hamburg.

Travel by bus and S-Bahn (suburban train) needs to be planned carefully in advance (check timetables, otherwise you'll be waiting an hour for the bus in Wilhelmsburg).

NO TICKETS from the bus driver.

Book online in advance.

The Stackmeister restaurant on the campsite is great.

Lovely spot to stay, 45 to 50 minute bike ride to Hamburg city center. Top-notch showers and sanitary facilities, the restaurant is simply tasty and good. You pay for electricity and showering.

In principle, everything is there, but certainly in early spring, an 'in the middle of nowhere' feeling prevails. The reception and shop are open for only an hour twice a day; I wasn't able to check that out, and it was rather impersonal. Public transport to the city takes about 45 minutes, but only once an hour; planning the (return) journey works well with the HVV app. We didn't attempt the 12km bike ride to Hamburg. Restaurant "Der Stackmeister" makes up for a lot.
