indeed a deserted mess.
We parked at the camper place and spent the night there. no facilities! 
within walking distance of shopping centers.

A campsite that has quite a lot of potential; many beautiful places on the river but what a lame mess. Garbage, decay everywhere, plumbing is dirty and unlit. Just like other motor home owners, we quickly left the next day. We had to call the manager at 10.30 out of bed before we could leave. No, this never again !!

As of August 2019 parking is still allowed but the services are no longer available.  There is a service point at the nearby Camping de la Dronne.
