great pub / restaurant…. friendly staff, only to happy to let you stay overnight, lovely food and reasonable prices

Stay overnight in the parking lot for free if you eat and drink something with them.  Food is good and plenty on tap. Friendly staff.  It is a main road, so traffic can be heard. Good for when you are passing through.

At night it is a quiet car park near a cozy pub and small restaurant, just outside the village of Barkston Ash. The busy morning traffic was clearly audible. The restaurant has a varied menu and - as mentioned in previous reviews - the food tastes great. Because their purpose is a café-restaurant, there are no facilities, a free overnight stay is their gesture after a visit to The Ash Tree Inn. Fine for a transit
