Stayed 3-4/05. Had a different experience to the last 2 reviews. We had a large pitch that was level. The portacabin toilets had paper and seats. The showers were clean & hot, although cramped. No electric available and €25 a night, so not the cheapest municipal site, but its proximity to the centre of La Rochelle explains why. I can see that certain pitches are quite cramped. We didn’t like our 1st one so asked to be moved no with no problem

I’ve never stayed at a site where you are so crammed in together. motorhome pitches have a barrier to allow people in tents to pitch up directly behind you. then you have motorhomes also at all sides of you.
facilities are also very basic and busy with people walking round in dressing gowns, shaving, queueing etc. it felt like a hostel with the amount of people there.
we survived the night as we arrived late and were leaving first thing.

Close to the city, the grounds are closed at night with a security guard, the staff is friendly, but otherwise the site is poorly maintained with uneven pitches, low-hanging trees, the cassette toilet disposal was closed during our visit, and the sanitary facilities are outdated and very basic, with no toilet seats, no toilet paper, and no soap.
