We also heard the church bells chime every half hour, even at night. It's a quiet place, though quite far from the A1 exit and on-ramp, even though it's very close as the crow flies.

Beautiful place, peaceful, and consistent with previous reviews.
You can visit the abbey and the garden. The village isn't large, but it does have two cafes.
