The photos look rather bleak, and in reality, it certainly was. Just asphalt and stone, surrounded by tall, opaque shrubs and hedges. It feels closed in with no view. It does seem like a peaceful area if you want to sleep in undisturbed. It's quite in the outskirts of the city, but it doesn't seem particularly unsafe. We drove north to Merzig. Spacious pitches there on grass near the pool. Paid-for electricity, or free.

good starting point for cycling along the saar. at night fairly quiet. Sani at clearance 06.00 to 14.30. location see sign
