Close to the centre of Franeker because that is really around the corner, the campsite is a bit dated especially the sanitary facilities (1980 I think) the price is just up to date. 
Simple and fine for a stopover and hikers/cyclists. 
What we did notice was the large number of signs on the campsite with texts such as "keep away", "forbidden for", "only intended for ...." will have been necessary in the past but is it really that hospitable?

Cosy campsite with neat spacious pitches on grass. Friendly and helpful reception. Power of simplicity: everything is there for camping. Within walking distance of the beautiful centre with beautiful museums.

very nice reception. good explanation about everything. friendly woman and man. shower 50 cents. dog you pay 1 euro pn extra. shower and toilet all indoors in a large shed. (dated but nice and clean) there is room to store your bicycles dry if you wish.
there is a drying rack where you can hang your laundry. microwave and refrigerator that you can use.
and cupboard full of books and folders. I say top location
