Camping Amsterdam aan Zee, Small-scale camping

Experience: We loved our stay! The camping space is a rectangular field behind the wash/toilets/seated area barn and Infront of a huge chicken shed (we didn’t hear or smell the chickens so don’t let that put you off!) There are fixed and amazingly painted caravans on the right of the field and the left and infront of the barn is for touring vans, motorhomes, tents. The middle of the field is open and so the site isn’t crowded at all 2 showers and several toilets plus washing machine and sofa area are all welcome in the barn at no extra cost too It’s so peaceful! The welcome was great and Bas let us choose our spot, there is one little cabin at the back and we went next to this-nice as it was empty the whole time we were there Local beach Hermskerk is about a 4/5 minute cycle on small country roads then a 10 minute car free cycle through the national park on amazingly well constructed tarmac or brick cycle paths, beautiful sunsets and huge beach including a naturalists area past the main beach Nearest shops just 5/6 minute cycle ride and we can hugely recommend 2 great restaurants if you want a real treat- Laurents in Heemskerk and de open keukem in Beverwikj both just 10 mins cycle along the amazing Dutch cycle routes. Heemskerk is lovely and we enjoyed the castle and the market too Highly recommend a stay here if you’re looking for peace, beautiful quiet beaches, lovely little towns and a friendly small campsite Tips: See above- bring a bike and enjoy the beaches Contact: Very good- friendly and helpful especially when I thought I’d mucked up on the dates I’d booked!
