Don't drive down there unless it's been dry for several days and is guaranteed to stay that way! I was down there with my expedition vehicle. It wasn't a problem. Then, unexpectedly, it started to drizzle during the night. Not much, but I had a problem: I couldn't get out. Under the grass is wet silt, and beneath that, wet clay. Even with low range and the axle lock engaged, I got stuck and was trapped for two days. Only a tractor could pull me out.

There are several campers parked around the lake. This isn't the only spot. A challenging access path leads to a beautiful spot. Plenty of space, no fixed spots, but it does depend on the water level. There are likely more access roads to the various locations around the lake; we also saw campers parked in the distance or on the opposite side. So drive around here until you find a nice spot!

We went there full of expectations, place is beautiful, nice deserted town opposite, wide view and that water looks wonderful. nothing is less true, when I walked there to let the dog cool down a bit I was shocked by the dozens of dead (large) fish on the shore. Dog in there did not seem healthy to me and certainly not myself. Because of that disappointment we did not stay but drove on to Artieda, great!!
