A great spot; along a lake is a forest with plenty of shade. The parking lot has less shade. Busy on weekends with picnicking locals.

we were here on Sunday, nice weather so lots of parked cars belonging to locals

we couldn't park here

We were allowed to park under the trees. Follow the route and take small dirt roads to the canoe rental.
At the top of the mountain, it still smelled too much from the 2025 forest fires.
