Beautiful and quiet place to spend the night. We only stayed there during the day, but wouldn't hesitate for a second to stay the night. There are (clean!) porta-loo facilities and the place is a nice starting point for several walks. It does indeed cost 12 pounds, split into 2 day tickets of 6 pounds (day of arrival and day of departure).

Great place to stay overnight. No facilities other than a few portable toilets. You can stay for the night for £12. The parking meter accepts cards/phones. You are parked in the park's car park in a wooded area. A 3.2km (blue) walking route starts from the car park and leads you past beautiful spots. We even encountered a herd of deer along the way. The 3 stars are given because there are no facilities, but it is a fine place nonetheless.

We're National Trust members, so we can stay here for one night for free. The blue route is about 3 km and breathtakingly beautiful. There's another National Trust car park 6 km further on, and you can also stay there for one night. So, in our case, that's also free. There are no facilities, not even any litter bins, but there are reasonably clean toilets. According to the ranger, black and gray water can be emptied for 5 pounds at the campsite in Braemar.
