We phoned in advance but answerphone detailing reception hours to which I regret not listening more carefully (I got 10am-12pm only. Email didn’t go through (error message failed to send). We arrived just after 7 when reception was closed. A kind camper leaving told us about Motorhome parking place round the corner (turn left out of campsite, then first left and it’s immediately on your left) where we spent the night before our channel crossing.

Owner Paulo told us his grandfather took over this place in 1951 and it has been in the family ever since. It’s really quite special, with its magnificent archway entrance and you feel like you are staying in a piece of history. Basic but clean facilities, one euro shower tokens, just about warm but we loved our stay of 4 nights and the area, a haven from the business of the coast but with the best coastal views on the various walks.

Great location and loved the town but on edge of a busy side road so traffic noise early morning disturbed our sleep, but free 8pm-8am stay so we couldn’t complain.

We were the only ones here with great views across the fields of vines. Lovely and quiet with toilet in car park above. What a find!

Friendly quiet place to stay overlooking fields. clean facilities and helpful friendly checkin. We didn’t have cash, but instead of having to go back next morning to find a cash machine, the lady of the house came out to find us with a card machine (a new acquisition I think).

We loved our stay here so much we spend 5 days at the end of September. Great cycling although steep climbs if you are on pedal power only as we were! We cycled to Antibes, Cannes, Gorges de Loup, Gourdon, St Paul de Vence and walked on one rainy day around the woodland to Tourette sur Loup. Campsite was quiet although you heard the roar of distant traffic on the main roads early morning and evening time.

Great lakeside views, felt quite Alpine, we enjoyed a cycle round lake Paladru, fine to take the cycle/walking path half way round then road the rest
