Is paying parking near Versailles. If not necessary, avoid! We had an unsafe feeling, many homeless, unfriendly people. Is not a camper place. Forget about staying overnight.

I confirm the comments below. Top spot! Etretat can be done by bike, but it is best to use an electric bike due to the large height difference. Be on time because this campsite was always full on the three days we were there!

It is indeed just a large parking lot without facilities. No camping behavior allowed. We were there with 1 other camper. Fairly quiet, only some returning partying English people at night. Excellent base for the old town (be sure to visit the museum castle and crypt under the basilica and take a walk around the fortresses) and fishing port (largest in France). Shops close by.
