We stayed here for 1 night 20/09/19. The aire has a good outlook and there are 4 free electric points and water but no cassette/ waste emptying facilities. The downside, at this time of year, was noise from machinery, used to harvest/ crush grapes from domaine opposite, along with traffic noise negotiating adjacent T junction. Recommend using other Aire @ Montbrison, sitecode 12589

Very quiet and maintained site, despite having only basic amenities, but good value at £8 per night. However, we walked into York city centre today and it took us well over an hour, going via the river path mentioned in an earlier review. (In fact, it took over 30 minutes to reach the river path from the camp site!) BUT, from Fulford Road there is a number 7 bus service running every 10 minutes.

We spent 2 quiet nights here 28 & 29 Sept 2018. The first night after the guided tour of the Hackenberg Fortress, which was conducted in French and English, extremely informative and good value for €10. The 2nd night was after we had done the 12 km walk portrayed on site. We paid 2€ for each night and the friendly staff left the sanitation block open for our use. Highly recommended.

Very nice parking area in car park in front of church, which unfortunately incorporates a bus stop - the buses turned up at intervals from 5.40am, leaving engines running for long periods before moving off...........will not be returning!

Stayed here overnight 5 March 2018. Awoken before 6 am by truck traffic noise going to and from cheese producers a little further along road. Otherwise fine!!!

NOTE: The aire is closed mid November to mid March.

Location great, unfortunately the aire can attract travellers.

The only place to empty your cassette toilet is at the drive over waste but the grid is damaged and will not lift. However, there is a public wc adjoining the service point. Also, because the aire is in a large car park suitable for all types of vehicles, unfortunately, it was used by heavy vehicles starting very early in the morning. ( 5.30am!)

It would appear from a notice at the aire dated January 2017 that there is no free period at any time of the year. ( See photo of notice etc above.) Lovely aire though, well worth the charge and La Plage du Veillon, a short stroll from the aire, is fantastic

There is an air of neglect about this campsite, especially the sanitation block which was decidedly dirty and uncleaned. This is a shame as it has immediate access to beaches, a close proximity to commerce and is very convenient for cycling and walking.
