Aire de camping-car Calais

Good paved campervan site in Calais. Close to the beach. There are many pitches, but you don't really notice them. The campervan site is mainly practical and lacks atmosphere. If you're parked at the back, there's no gate to walk your dog through. Despite being in the city, you're not bothered by city noise. If I were to take the ferry to Dover, I would definitely reserve a spot here.

€15 part of CampingCar Park chain so need registration if not already done, can do online/at barrier machine. Spacious Aire, marked bays with grass areas, EHU inc, dump/fresh outside entrance, wc emptying can be used, need registration code/card for fresh water. 10 mins drive to ferry/tunnel. 5 mins walk to really nice prom/beach. Quiet overnight, popular but 100 spaces so plenty of room on our stay.

The campervan site is accessible via a pass or the "campervan park" app. The one-time fee for this pass is €5. We saw several times that fellow campervanners were bothering us… Hold the pass against the box at the barrier or enter a PIN (accessible via the app). To leave the campervan site, make sure there is sufficient credit on the pass/app. You can top up with any amount (so not a mandatory €50 charge, as mentioned in previous reviews). You can also use the pass to tap water.
