The gate was locked, the square empty. The parking space obviously no longer exists!

Saw the high rating and headed there. Dubious place. Very dodgy area with narrow streets. No stores, cafes or similar visible near by. Two automated gates and heavy CCTV coverage suggests what type of neighbourhood this is. Called the number, only Italian spoken. Finally someone arrived, again no English. When we saw what the actual campsite looks like, we decided to go to the campsite instead.

Nice location, covered areas if desired. Intricate way to drive in and out (2 gates). But an owner who is nothing too much makes up for everything. Not far from an excellent metro connection with Catania center. We paid € 23 per night.
