Very expensive, as they are the only campsite in La Herradura. We payed 32 euros pr night and that was with 30% discount (off season + staying 10 days). This is why most short stayers wild camp in the area. The site is very narrow with low hanging trees and electric cables. Barking dogs just outside the fence. Facilities are hygienic and warm water plenty, unless the gas runs out.

Located on a former horse farm, this looked quite nice at first, a small, inexpensive place with some nice owners. The toilets need a boost, as there is only one for the entire campsite - and this also houses the only shower, so expect waiting at certain hours. Inside there is a nice bar where I planned to take the family but there is smoking inside! Changed our plans and left the next day.

Very nice campsite, one of our all time favourite. Clean and well kept, water on pitches etc. Located in a tiny but lovely village (supermarked, bakery and two restaurants) and on site there is a snack bar with pizzas and more. Fantastic hiking/cykling trails. Recommended, especially for those with kids (football field, pool and playground on site) and those who like to experience a little nature.

A bit dated but clean with well working amenities (hot water etc). Not sure why it’s listed w 10 spaces as it has lots more. Fuses are 16 amps, so blowing them should not be a problem. Spent 4 nights there, quite nice.

No services except for dustbin, but a very beautiful location. Very nice for a one night stop.

Aging, but very well managed for an Italian campsite. Best of all is the owner, who is more than helpful. His friend did some installment work on our camper, professional work for a very good price. Owner drove us back and forth for free and gave us solid tips for other places to visit. His go-karts are also wicked, the real deal. For Matera, don’t look elsewhere for camping!

A rare gem among Italian campsites, brand new (2018) and well managed. Hot water everywhere, paper and soap (even seats!) in WC, very rare in Italy. :-) Shuttle service to Etna (25€ return for the group). Very nice and truly recommended.

There’s not much to rate here, it’s just a parking lot with a nice view. Beware of the route: one wrong turn and you are in major trouble, travelling uphill on veeery narrow streets with no possibility of turning back. We did (thanks Garmin! :-) ) and got some minor damages to the car.

Well managed for an Italian campsite, but getting old. Hot water in showers only (they are nice). Laundry is a hefty 6€ in an antique machine. Barking dogs at night. After 3 months of travelling Europe, this campsite is the most expensive, for no apparent reason. 35€ for one night! Staff is nice, but for the price this is not recommended.

Beatiful pitches at the beach, the others are less interesting. WC and showers really filthy and were never cleaned during our stay (3 nights). Special tokens needed for showers (lasts ca 2 mins only!). No one was there during our stay, owner just drove by once a day to collect his share. Upside was we only paid €8 pr night, including electricity. Could be really nice with proper management.

Campsite was OK, mostly due to the penned animals our kids loved, although not really flat. Toilets and showers were disgusting, quite frankly. Could not locate grey or black water dumping. Excessive barking all night. Food was OK and the owner pleasant.

Nice pitches under the fruit trees, but some management would be in order. Rotten fruit over all, toilets and showers are a bit run down and dirty. Worst of all is the price, we paid 36 Euro for one night. Note this is also a park site (€3 hour) and you are charged this if you fail to notify them beforehand that you are camping. Not recommended, but usable and very close ti Pompeii.

Saw the high rating and headed there. Dubious place. Very dodgy area with narrow streets. No stores, cafes or similar visible near by. Two automated gates and heavy CCTV coverage suggests what type of neighbourhood this is. Called the number, only Italian spoken. Finally someone arrived, again no English. When we saw what the actual campsite looks like, we decided to go to the campsite instead.

Basically a parking lot (a steep slope with olive trees) with electricity in a few places, and you can empty grey and blackwater. Very close to the center and quite tidy, WC cassette washing-machine is nifty. :-)

With a bit of basic maintenance and hygiene, this one could be quite good, but is lacking both. Located by the sea you’d think it’s quiet, but alas. The road seems popular for young people to drive at night, with loud music blaring. Also, the nearby beach bar happily provided us with party music until 4 in the morning, + dogs barking all night. Earplugs a must for this one.

A big campsite with many permanent campers. Relatively well maintained for Italian standards, a bit old but not unsanitary. Very good restaurant on site and a shop with basic amenities. Spent a few nights here with the squirrels, no complaints.

Quite nice for an Italian campsite, tidy and clean, although toilets lack paper and soap. Very nice for a one night stay, close (200m) to a ferry to Venice.

Best campsite/campervansite I have been to so far. Very clean and well maintained. Nice little shop on site and very good restaurant. WC, showers, washing up facility and laundry room all fantastic. Nearby villages very nice to visit. Really nice!

Quite nice and tidy. Payment easy through phone or card. Playground and restaurant on site.

Cheap and very basic. Shower in bathroom, unconvenient to say the least, but gets the job done. Not sure why all the tri-fase, industrial sockets are there, but there are a few appropriate sockets for autocampers as well. Quit area.
