We had chosen this campsite today. When we arrived, it turned out that the pitches were messy and poorly prepared. Very old garden benches. No reviews after Aug 2025. We couldn't find a decent spot and the general maintenance left a lot to be desired in our eyes. A shame, because the surroundings are surely very beautiful. So, unfortunately, we left again.

We felt so comfortable at Camping Rothenfels! Here, you definitely felt like a guest! Very friendly owner. Beautiful, spacious accommodations. Wonderful view. Very nice, cozy Grand Café with a large terrace where you are seen and served as a guest. The cheese fondue and tarte flambée are highly recommended. Kudos to the owner. We'd love to come back. A quiet campsite for nature lovers in Austrian Styria, that is camping Rothenfels. This terraced campsite near the medieval castle Rothenfels has regular pitches and a separate naturist area. Here it is really dark at night, which makes it an ideal place for stargazers.
