Camping Groeneveld

I really don't understand why that score is so low. We stayed 1 night. Had a good meal, nice live music on the terrace. Received a friendly welcome... okay, not a 5-star campsite, but what they offer is simply very good.

In itself, a nice campsite tucked away at the end of a quiet street on a busy road with quite a few permanent residents. The welcome was friendly, the campsite is laid out so that all campers are in a single row which I liked, there is a fishing pond and a nature reserve at the back. Ooidonk Castle and the associated walking route nearby are certainly worth a visit. The sanitary facilities are dated. For this price of a campsite, you expect just a little more.

Very quiet campsite, with residents. Camping pitches are by a ditch which was rather smelly, but maybe due to lack of rain, there was no getting away from the smell? The washrooms were tired but very clean. Lovely village with fab architecturally built houses. We obviously chose a weekend of a local music festival in a nearby village as the music was on all night till 6.30am, some of it was good😂
