With this quick and easy mug cake, you're always ready for a party, even when you're out and about with the motorhome.
Ingredients:
4 tablespoons of flour
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1/8 teaspoon baking powder
A pinch of salt
3 tablespoons of milk
2 tablespoons oil (e.g. sunflower oil)
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Colourful sprinkles
Utensils:
A microwave or oven-proof mug
A microwave or oven
Preparation:
Mix the ingredients: Add flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt to the mug. Mix well with a fork. Then add the milk, oil and vanilla extract to the mug. Mix well until there are no lumps.
Make it festive: Sprinkle some colourful sprinkles on top of the batter. This is optional but will make your mug cake extra festive!
In the microwave: Place the mug in the microwave and heat on the highest setting for about 90 seconds.
In the oven: you can also prepare a mug cake in the oven if you don't have a microwave in your motorhome. Start by preheating the oven to 180°C. Place the oven-proof mug in the centre of the preheated oven and bake for 15-18 minutes.
Check for doneness: Baking time may vary depending on your magetron/oven and the size of your mug. Stick a fork or skewer into the centre of the cake to check if it is done. If the fork comes out clean, your mug cake is done.
Let it cool for a while: Wait a few minutes before removing your festive mug cake from the mug or eating it directly from the mug.
Serve and enjoy: You can decorate the mug cake with more sprinkles, whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream for extra festivity.
