Recipe for a festive mug cake!

With this quick and easy mug cake, you're always ready for a party, even when you're out and about with the motorhome.

Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons of flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • 3 tablespoons of milk
  • 2 tablespoons oil (e.g. sunflower oil)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Colourful sprinkles

Utensils:

  • A microwave or oven-proof mug
  • A microwave or oven

Preparation:

  1. Mix the ingredients: Add flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt to the mug. Mix well with a fork. Then add the milk, oil and vanilla extract to the mug. Mix well until there are no lumps.
  2. Make it festive: Sprinkle some colourful sprinkles on top of the batter. This is optional but will make your mug cake extra festive!
  3. In the microwave: Place the mug in the microwave and heat on the highest setting for about 90 seconds.
  4. In the oven: you can also prepare a mug cake in the oven if you don't have a microwave in your motorhome. Start by preheating the oven to 180°C. Place the oven-proof mug in the centre of the preheated oven and bake for 15-18 minutes.
  5. Check for doneness: Baking time may vary depending on your magetron/oven and the size of your mug. Stick a fork or skewer into the centre of the cake to check if it is done. If the fork comes out clean, your mug cake is done.
  6. Let it cool for a while: Wait a few minutes before removing your festive mug cake from the mug or eating it directly from the mug.
  7. Serve and enjoy: You can decorate the mug cake with more sprinkles, whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream for extra festivity.
