Bonjour Bram and Susan, Thank you for your feedback. It is indeed true that in high season we use a minimum of two nights' accommodation to guarantee peace and quiet on the campsite in connection with children playing on the site. That is why we have closed the campsite on camper contact until September 1. In the early and late season it is no problem at all to stay with us for a night, we especially have many walkers and cyclists (without children) who explore the area with their camper or caravan or via the formula The French Path of the walking or cycling from one chambre d'hôte to another chambre d'hôte. We have a large main building with reception, play loft and a bar. Due to the table d'hôte formula, all guests can enjoy a three-course menu every evening, upon registration, in high season. On Thursday and Sunday we bake fresh pizzas that the guests can invest themselves from the pizza buffet and we bake the pizzas in the wood-fired pizza oven. Table d'hôte formula means, eat what's on offer. The toilet block (4 toilets and 6 showers plus a sanitary room for disabled visitors) is completely up to standard for the number of camping pitches we have, all other accommodations, such as the glamping lodges, use their private sanitary facilities. Our campsite is still young and the trees are not growing fast, so there is indeed little shade. By placing your camping equipment in a certain way, with the opening to the view over the fields, you have shade of your own camping equipment. The pool is indeed on the tight side, next year we will expand and there will be a larger pool. Now many guests cool off in the swimming lake, which is located near the glamping lodges. At the time you were here, the tractor we mow with was gone for repair. That's why the grass was a bit higher than normal. Where you were, on the edge of the forest, is not an official camping spot. But since you wanted shade, we placed you there. Our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Good to read that you experienced the bread service as pleasant and it was nice to have received you (even if it was only for an overnight stay 😉) during your return trip to the Netherlands from Portugal. Sincerely, Helen and Willem Domaine Bonneblond
