Hello Kiel, Thank you for your feedback and for sharing it with the Campercontact travel community. We are in fact a small municipal campsite (which belongs to the town hall of Vézelay) and it is precisely the simplicity that we advocate and which defines this place: we have, for example, no entertainment, no swimming pool, no bouldering heated sanitary facilities or wifi network extended to the entire campsite. The municipality's desire is to continue to offer affordable prices for everyone, while keeping the authentic spirit of "Camping". We are sorry that the state of the sanitary facilities did not satisfy you because we take the greatest care every day, well aware that cleanliness is a priority for our campers: washing surfaces, mirrors and showers; brushing toilets; washing the floor then rinsing with plenty of water (except periods of drought) of the floor, showers, surfaces and toilets - this every day around 11:30 a.m. However, it is possible that we missed an element of cleanliness before our visit and we apologize for this. Hello Sendplan, Thank you for your opinion and your comment. However, we would like to shed more light on this. As for the group of pickers, a note in English at reception and on our website informs you that calm is not guaranteed at the campsite during this period (discussions in the evening and early departure by car in the morning of the pickers) . In Burgundy / in Vézelay, vines and wine are part of the local activity, we support it. There are 3 municipal employees running the campsite this summer: 2 who speak English fluently and a third who makes the necessary efforts to welcome you in good conditions. We regret that this upset you and are delighted that you were still able to find a solution together. As for cycling routes, the surroundings of Vézelay offer much more than a single 40 km loop, we strongly recommend the small roads of the Morvan which will take you to discover the castles, small villages, lakes and rivers of the park.
