Camping de Bourg-Charente

Beautiful small campsite right on the Charente river. The campsite has two sanitary blocks: a new building up the hill and a building renovated today near the reception. The sanitary facilities are in excellent order, clean, and with nice warm showers. Unfortunately, there are no toilet seats or paper. A secluded cycle path runs along the river in front of the campsite. There is a small terrace for drinks and ice cream, and pizzas are baked in the evenings.

Nice little campsite on the Charente. Great pitches. Good sanitary facilities, but no toilet paper. Small terrace. Shady. Choose your own pitch and pay at the office at 6:00 PM. While we were there, work was being done to expand the campsite. Costs on April 23rd: €18 for a camper with two adults and electricity. Pets are free. Good starting point for cycling along the Charente. Castle (unfortunately closed now) on the other side of the river.

We stayed here for 3 nights; a simple, small campsite in a beautiful spot by the Charente river. Very friendly welcome from the owner. Nice bike rides to Cognac and Jarnac. Wonderfully quiet. We enjoyed it.
