Campéole L'ile des Papes

This is more of a holiday park than a campsite. The camping pitches themselves are poorly maintained; there is one water point for 12 pitches and the flow is poor, so you are quicker off going to the shower to fetch water, not to mention the trash cans. Unfortunately for the very friendly staff, we will not be coming back.

Great campsite, neat and clean sanitary facilities, nice swimming pool. Easy to cycle to Avignon. Also nice walking along the Rhône. The restaurant is closed on Wednesdays, but there is a food truck with delicious Moroccan food!

Besides being a lovely campsite within cycling distance of Avignon, the staff scores a solid 10 for friendliness and helpfulness. We experienced this firsthand after sustaining burns from hot water. Help came from all sides, including manager Gaudin! In a situation like that, it is especially reassuring to be able to rely on people who can, for example, arrange an ambulance. The facilities at the campsite are top-notch! Five stars are truly well-deserved.
