We stayed here a few days ago. It was very busy during the day, but the parking lot was quiet in the evening. We had a lovely walk to Elbachseeblick. Definitely worth it. We had a delicious meal at the Kniebishütte. We were the only ones there at night, but we felt very safe.

We stayed here for 1 night. It is on a busy road, but it didn't bother us at night. No facilities. There is a clean toilet that you can use between 8 and 20 for one euro. There is also a small stall where you can get some local stuff like fruit, juices and sausage. Ellbachseeblick is within walking distance and definitely worth the walk!

We found the parking lot at the Kniebishutte very busy and moved to the parking lot at the ski stadium, 200 meters away on the other side of the road. It was wonderfully quiet.

Information
Very wide, flat rest area, with a nice view to the south, but rather disturbed by traffic during daylight hours, quiet at night. It is the parking lot served by a small restaurant and a winter ski lift. Excellent starting point for hiking or mountain biking. Very busy during the day, almost desert at night. No service. We stayed two nights in July 2019. There is a small shop selling typical products.
