Bischwind am Raueneck is a small, idyllic village in the Haßberge Nature Park. There are many hiking trails and castle ruins in the immediate vicinity. The historic half-timbered town of Königsberg in Bavaria is about 7 km away. The towns of Ebern & Hofheim are about 10 km away, Bamberg about 35 km, Coburg about 30 km, the Vierzehnheiligen Basilica & Banz Monastery about 35 km away. In the village there is an excellent restaurant with local specialties as well as an inn. The Haßberge are considered to be a German castle corner, which is also what the logo of the nature park refers to. It is characterized by mixed forest, numerous watercourses, grassland, dry biotopes and old vineyards. 20 prehistoric refuges and ramparts, 15 castles and castle ruins and 26 palaces are located in the area of the nature park and are accessible via a castle and palace hiking trail (source: Wikipedia). In the village there is a bakery with traditional farmer's bread and fresh eggs. There is a kiosk attached to the landlord's house where you can get fresh baked goods, coffee, etc. at the weekend.
