Gasthaus Rheingoldschenke

At the end of September 2025, the road to Oberwesel is still closed, but you can drive to the Rheingoldschänke without any problems. The weather wasn't great on our weekend, but we were able to take advantage of it for two lovely hikes. The Schwede Bure circular hiking trail (approx. 12 km) passes right by the inn and is highly recommended. The wines and excellent food at the Rheingoldschänke are also highly recommended. We'd love to come back!

We found this place after everything along the Rhine was full. But we were so glad to find it here, with a beautiful view and peace and quiet. We received a warm welcome, had a delicious meal, and even bought a few lovely bottles of Riesling.

A truly beautiful spot surrounded by nature. We had dinner at the restaurant on the terrace with its stunning view. Simple but good German food. Delicious homemade ice cream. They only serve house wine, and it's excellent.
