Parcheggio Funivia del Gran Sasso

Huge parking lot near the cable car to Campo Imperatore. Note: the cable car is undergoing long-term renovations. There is a path to the top, but it's not suitable for everyone; it's very steep and challenging. Mobile phone reception is excellent, though there's a cell phone mast in the parking lot. Construction is currently underway on an escalator to the restaurants and hotel, although that's also easily accessible on foot. There also seem to be campervan parking spots, so will it remain free?

Quiet place to spend the night. Huge parking lot. We were there with 4 campers. No amenities. Three stars for the tranquility and the view.

6/21/2022 is ok for a night or two. No services but a lot of peace because it is empty in the summer
