Area Comunale

At the beginning of November, the water and parking meter were shut off, but what an impressive view of the (in our case, snow-covered) Gran Paradiso area! Perfectly maintained; someone even came to ask if we had any trash he could take with us. If the site is full, a little higher up, at the Champlong picnic area, there's a similar campsite with a beautiful view. Lovely walks in the area, and near Torgnon, there's a view of Monte Cervino (Matterhorn).

If you can shower yourself in the winter at -10 degrees, then this is an excellent winter camper parking. The road there is challenging and the ski area even more so. We have a retarder on the camper and it comes in handy here because the climb is 30 km long to 1,800 m. Only for adventurous people. But beautiful scenery under the Lyskam (4,500 m). Bring enough supplies because there are no shops. The facilities for the camper are fine.

We were here with a camper of more than 7.5 m. on the weekend of June 15 and 16, and it was well worth it. Beautiful view, clean toilets, electricity and water, discharge of chemical toilet and dirt were also possible. Quite a challenge to drive to the top ;-)
